I recently interviewed the guest conductor for the University at Buffalo’s Slee Sinfonietta, Daniel Bassin, about the upcoming concert on Tuesday, October 30. Daniel is a very musical individual, one whom I absolutely love being around. I’m really excited about the program that the Slee Sinfonietta is putting on and which he has helped curate:
Morton Feldman – De Kooning
— intermission —
Karlheinz Stockhausen – Kreuzspiel
Tristan Murail – Vues aeriennes
Witold Lutosławski – Dance Preludes

Recently, I’ve been acting as the editor and copywriter for the blog of the Center for 21st Century Music, and wrote up a profile on the terrific violinist Yuki Numata, who performed in my septet, Shindō no su, with the Talea Ensemble. In the blog, I wrote about some of her recent projects and my experience working with her. The profile can be found here.
